Artificial Intelligence Meets Verification Technology

By Max Maxfield | Wednesday, January 10, 2018

In this podcast, verification expert Lauro Rizzatti and EEWeb.com’s editor-in-chief, Max Maxfield, discuss the relationship between artificial intelligence and design verification.

One thing that I really like about my job is that there’s always something fun and exciting going on. Just a few weeks ago, for example, my chum — verification expert Lauro Rizzatti — asked me if I’d be interested in joining him on a podcast.

Since 2016, Lauro has been creating a series of Verification Perspectives podcasts. As it says on Lauro’s podcast page, these little rascals feature “interesting and in-depth conversations with the verification industry’s most important and influential figures.” (I know, I know; this also made me wonder why he invited me to join this illustrious ensemble.)

Lauro knows that I’m currently very interested in advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), artificial neural networks (ANNs), machine learning, deep learning, and cognitive (thinking, reasoning) systems, so he proposed that we talk about the relationship between artificial intelligence and design verification.

Well, I’m always “game for a laugh,” as they say, so I agreed. (How could I not? The real trick is to get me to stop talking.)

Before we started the recording, Lauro said something like, “I’m really interested to hear what you are going to say about this topic.” I immediately responded, “So am I!”

If you are interested, you can hear the whole 15-minute recording at Rizzatti.com/podcasts. If you do take the time to peruse and ponder this podcast, I’d love to hear whether or not you agree with my conclusions regarding the relationship between artificial intelligence and design verification.
